Update: Thunderstorms with pea-sized hail in Delta Thursday – gusts may reach 30 mph

Carquinez Strait and Delta, Southern Sacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley and Motherlode are included in an updated weather alert for strong thunderstorms by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 4:19 p.m. The alert is in effect until 5 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 30 mph and pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) are likely.

“At 4:19 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Natomas to near Country Club. Movement was north at 50 mph,” according to the NWS Sacramento CA.
