Pea-sized hail forecast with thunderstorms in Bay Area Thursday – gusts up to 40 mph

San Francisco Bay Shoreline, San Francisco Peninsula Coast and Santa Cruz Mountains are included in an updated report for strong thunderstorms by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 6:18 p.m. The alert is in effect until 6:45 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) are anticipated.

“At 6:18 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 12 miles south of Woodside, or 13 miles southwest of Palo Alto, moving northeast at 60 mph,” according to the NWS San Francisco CA.
