Thunderstorms with damaging winds in Los Angeles County Thursday – wind gusts reaching 60 mph

Los Angeles County is included in a severe thunderstorm warning released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 8:51 a.m. The warning is in effect until 9:15 a.m.

Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

“At 8:51 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over eastern Malibu, moving north at 10 mph,” the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA said. “Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.”
