Drivers, residents being rescued in Wrightwood as slides, floods cut them off during storm
San Bernardino County firefighters on Wednesday morning, Dec. 24, were rescuing motorists and residents in the Wrightwood area who were cut off by mudflows and fast-moving water that made Highway 2 impassable.
There were no immediate reports of injuries requiring hospitalization, said Chris Prater, a Fire Department spokesman.
It was unclear how many people were affected or whether they were in any immediate danger. The slides across roads and Highway 2 stopped drivers in their tracks.
