Christmas crackdown: Kandhamal shuts liquor shops in sensitive areas

Kandhamal district is taking proactive steps to ensure a peaceful Christmas. Liquor shops in sensitive areas will be closed for two days, December 24th and 25th, to maintain law and order. Police have intensified patrolling and launched a special drive against open alcohol consumption and unlawful activities, deploying 27 teams across the district.
