Fire breaks out
inside apartment

A two-alarm blaze damaged an apartment building in Novato and displaced tenants, according to the Novato Fire Protection District.

The fire happened Monday night in a third-floor apartment at 401 Ignacio Blvd. at the corner of Alameda del Prado. Authorities evacuated the occupants and extinguished the fire.

The cause remains under investigation. The fire district reported no significant injuries and did not say how many tenants the fire displaced.
