Celebrating zydeco music: Opelousas museum hosts new exhibit

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- The Opelousas Museum unveiled a Zydeco exhibit on Friday, August 8, showcasing the vibrant culture and history of Zydeco music.

The exhibit features the work of photographer Rita Colligan Manuel, who has spent years collecting memories, stories and pictures of Zydeco musicians in their element.

"Best shots. The ones that meant a whole lot to me had a story behind it that I would show in the showing and of the originators of Southwest Louisiana Zydeco," said Manuel.
