High winds, quarter-sized hail expected to hit NYC

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New York City officials have issued an updated alert for Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.

Officials are warning residents of wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and the possibility of quarter-sized hail.

The inclement conditions are expected until 3:15 p.m. in the three boroughs.

A severe thunderstorm and flash flood warning remains in effect throughout the day for New York City and New Jersey.
