Bogus deduction claims: I-T searches 150 sites

The Income Tax Department executed a nationwide search across 150 locations, targeting entities suspected of claiming fraudulent tax deductions. These entities allegedly misused provisions related to donations, medical insurance, and education loans. This action follows the 'NUDGE' campaign, which prompted taxpayers to revise returns, resulting in the withdrawal of ₹1,045 crore in false claims.
