Fast food giant Taco Bell is one of America's most beloved chains. The restaurant dates back to 1951, when Glen Bell, inspired by friends and neighbors at Mitla Cafe, created his own version of the Crunchy Taco, which really took off. Just a few years later, in 1954, before he launched Taco Bell, Glen started Bell's Drive-In and Taco Tia in the San Bernardino, CA, area. Finally, in 1962, Glen opened his first Taco Bell restaurant in Downey, CA.
