Alko sees summer sales drop in June by 10%

Alcohol sales at state-owned retailer Alko fell by 10 percent in June compared to the same month last year. The decrease followed changes in Finland’s alcohol law and growing competition from supermarkets.

Sales of wine dropped by 12.5 percent, spirits by 8.1 percent, and beer, cider, and mixed drinks by 2.6 percent. However, non-alcoholic beverages recorded a year-on-year rise of 29.1 percent.
