Poland orders troops to German border

Up to 5,000 soldiers will help curb illegal migration, the defense minister says

Poland has deployed 700 troops to its western border and is prepared to send up to 5,000 more guards to stop illegal migrant flows from Germany and Lithuania, officials have announced.

”We are strengthening security – decisively responding to migration threats”, Poland’s Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz posted on X, Monday, emphasizing the military’s role in the security effort.
