Scientist’s death being treated as murder with man, 20, to appear in court

A newly graduated scientist was killed in the street with a man set to appear in court charged with her murder.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder of Dr Fortune Gomo, 39, who lived in Dundee, police said.

Officers were called to a report that a woman had been seriously injured in the city’s South Road at around 4.25pm on Saturday.

She was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene.
