Armed gang storms Kenya human rights office ahead of protest memorial

An armed group attacked the headquarters of the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) in Nairobi on Sunday during preparations for a press conference denouncing state violence. The event was scheduled ahead of Saba Saba Day, an annual commemoration of pro-democracy protests.

Around 20 individuals, some carrying sticks, forced their way into the compound despite locked gates. They targeted people attending the event, accusing them of organising demonstrations.
