Following the coolest 4th of July in PDX in years, summer heat is building
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- As high pressure continues to build across the Pacific Northwest while we head into early next week, toasty afternoons are set to make their return.
But many folks enjoyed a cooler-than-normal Fourth of July in Portland this year as the daytime high maxed out at 71 degrees on Friday. There hasn't been a high temp on the 4th of July in the low-70s since 2016 when we only got up to 70 degrees.
Since then we had back-to-back years of 90-degree days on the 4th in Portland.
