Number of Delhi 'Laadli Yojana' beneficiaries down by almost 60% in last 15 years: RTI

The Laadli Yojana, initiated in Delhi in 2008 to empower young women, has witnessed a significant decline in beneficiaries. Data reveals a 58% drop from 1,26,965 in 2008-09 to 53,001 in 2024-25. Officials attribute this decrease to factors like girls dropping out of school and a lack of awareness regarding registration renewal, leaving a substantial number of beneficiaries unclaimed.
