Disaster Sparks Major Evacuation in Beloved Vacation Destination

The beautiful island of Crete, off the coast of Greece, is an iconic vacation destination, welcoming many tourists to its lovely beaches every year. Unfortunately, a disaster has led to a mass evacuation on the island.

On Thursday, hundreds of firefighters battled a wildfire that broke out on Crete, forcing the evacuation of more than 1,000 people, both residents and tourists. According to France 24, at least 230 firefighters were deployed to help fight the fires, along with 46 engines and helicopters.
