Last of Us co-creator quits HBO show to build new sci-fi universe

Neil Druckmann, co-creator of HBO's The Last of Us, is leaving the series before Season 3 to concentrate on Naughty Dog projects, including the new video game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Craig Mazin will take over the show's creative direction. Season 2 concluded in May 2025, and Season 3 will continue the story, focusing on Abby.
