Russia sign pact to construct nuclear power plant in uranium rich Kazakhstan

Russia and Kazakhstan have formalized an agreement to construct a nuclear power plant. Rosatom and Kazakhstan's Atomic Energy Agency signed the deal. The project aims to bolster Kazakhstan's energy security and decarbonize its economy. Rosatom will lead an international consortium for the project. The plant will be located in the Jambyl district of the Almaty region.
