$20 000 for 1975 World Cup heroes
THE CHAMPION CRICKETERS of 1975 who brought glory to the West Indies by winning the men’s Cricket World Cup will each be awarded US$10 000 (BDS$20 000).
This was announced last night by president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) Dr Kishore Shallow, as the players were feted and celebrated at a red-carpet event at Wyndham Grand Sam Lord’s Castle in St Philip.
He described the players as “giants of world cricket” who were “heroes, champions and revolutionaries”.
Shallow said: “And so tonight, we honour our giants.
