Former Meta VP Karandeep Anand takes on CEO role at Character. ai

Character.ai, the Google-backed AI chatbot service, has appointed Karandeep Anand, formerly of Meta and Microsoft, as its new CEO. Anand will concentrate on enhancing multimodal-AI technology and expanding the user base. His initial plans involve refining open-source models, improving search, and expanding the creative toolkit with audio and video capabilities. The company also welcomes Dominic Perella as chief legal officer.
