SoP soon for implementation of provisions of Assam Cattle Preservation Act

The Assam government will soon implement a Standard Operating Procedure. This is for the Assam Cattle Preservation Act of 2021. The law restricts cow slaughter and beef consumption near religious sites. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma cited attempts to spread communal hatred. Recent incidents involved beef being thrown in Hindu religious places.
