Rural Retailer Tractor Supply Co to Open 90 Stores by Year’s End

As Home Depot and Lowe’s try to rebound from rocky years, a different kind of retailer is quietly building an empire—and fast. 

Tractor Supply Company, the nation’s largest rural lifestyle chain, is opening 90 new locations by the end of 2025, according to Daily Mail. That pushes its footprint to about 3,200 stores across 49 states.

At least 18 of the new locations were formerly Big Lots stores, scooped up during a rescue acquisition following the chain’s bankruptcy.
