HGTV Host Dies at 55 Following Cancer Battle
A longtime HGTV host and executive has passed away from cancer.
Loren Ruch, who was head of content at HGTV as well as co-host of the 2021 series “HGTV House Party," died June 12 of myeloid leukemia. He was 55.
Ruch began his tenure at HGTV in 2005 and started his stint as an executive in 2008. He was promoted to head of content in January 2023.
Channing Dungey, the chair of Warner Bros. Television Group, confirmed Ruch's passing in a memo sent to employees and obtained by Variety.
