Topeka man charged in connection with June shooting death
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay announced that he is filing charges on Wednesday in connection to a homicide that happened on June 3 in Topeka.
Kagay said his office is filing charges against Pearson Carter III, 19, of Topeka, in connection to the shooting death of 29-year-old Topekan Ian A. Mwanki, according to the press release. Carter III is charged with:
- Murder in the second degree (intentional).
- Criminal carrying of a weapon (automatic weapon).
