Zoox launches its first robotaxi production facility, taking on Tesla and Waymo

Amazon’s Zoox has opened its first factory in California to build robotaxis, as it gets ready to start a ride service in Las Vegas this year and later in San Francisco. The commercial launch will pit Zoox against Waymo, which has operated driverless taxis for years and is expanding nationwide, and Elon Musk's Tesla, which plans to debut its paid robotaxi service on June 22.
