Ex-Jeanerette police chief arrested for cockfighting charges

IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Former Jeanerette police chief arrested for cock fighting in Beauregard Parish, according to Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office.

Dusty Vallot, 39, of Lafayette was arrested and charged for cock fighting and aggravated cruelty to animals, deputies said.

Vallot was arrested earlier this morning around 10:45 am and released later today, deputies said.

Vallot resigned from the role as Jeanerette police chief back in December 2024 and then was hired as a Iberia Parish sheriff deputy.
