Fish consumption in Finland dropped significantly in 2024, falling to just under 11 kilograms per person from 17 kilograms the previous year, according to preliminary figures released by Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).
Despite the sharp decline in fish, other food groups saw gains. The institute's Balance Sheet for Food Commodities reported that per capita consumption included 130kg of liquid dairy, 78kg of meat, 87kg of cereals, and nearly 11kg of fish.
