East Austin Juneteenth parade: What you need to know

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Juneteenth is coming up June 19, with various events and celebrations happening across Central Texas.

The Central Texas Juneteenth Parade, organized by the Greater East Austin Youth Association (GEAYA), will begin on the corner of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Salina Street near Oakwood Cemetery at 10 a.m., according to a city of Austin news release.

Dancers, floats and a marching band will go down Chicon Street, concluding at noon with a festival at Rosewood Park.
