RBI takes up axe in hand for frontloading rate cuts to push 3D India
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cut the repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.50%, marking its third consecutive reduction and totaling 100 basis points of cuts in 2025. It also slashed the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 100 basis points to 3%, injecting additional liquidity into the banking system. The RBI shifted its monetary policy stance from "accommodative" to "neutral", citing muted inflation and the need to support economic growth.
