Sinkhole emerges on busy Christchurch road due to burst water main, repair work underway

A sinkhole has disrupted Christchurch's Fendalton suburb due to a water main burst on Friday morning, impacting 50 properties with water outages. The sinkhole, near St Barnabas Church, emerged following heavy rains. A taxi was damaged after driving into the hole. Nearby roads were closed due to the ongoing repair work which is expected to conclude by Wednesday afternoon.
