Same sex couples can constitute a family: Madras High Court

The Madras High Court affirmed that same-sex couples can form a family, allowing a young woman to join her female partner. Citing the concept of "chosen family" and previous Supreme Court rulings on individual autonomy, the court released the woman from her natal family's custody, who were forcing her to undergo conversion rituals.
