Richland Parish man charged with 6 counts of attempted murder in apartment fire
RICHLAND PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- A man wanted for attempted murder in connection with a May 5 apartment fire has been arrested and extradited, authorities said.
Richard D. Pope, 40, of Oak Grove, is charged with six counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated arson, impeding a witness, obstruction of justice by evidence destruction and insurance fraud.
Deputies of the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal confirmed that they have extradited Pope from South Arkansas to face numerous charges.
