Bengal cabinet nod for revision of OBC list, inclusion of new castes

The West Bengal cabinet has approved the addition of 76 new castes to the Other Backward Class list. This decision supplements the existing 64 ethnic groups. Farakka in Murshidabad district will become a new subdivision. It will include Farakka, Shamsherganj, Suti-1 and Suti-2 blocks. The cabinet also sanctioned 109 contract-based posts for the new subdivision.
