John Mulaney is explaining why he turned down an offer to host the Academy Awards.

Ahead of the 2025 Oscars, it was reported that two comedians had passed on the gig with John being one of them. Conan O’Brien ended up hosting.

“Well, I was very flattered. They came to me, must have been last summer. And I knew Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t gonna do it. And they offered it. And it was honestly that I had a lot going on. And it’s months and months of work,” John said on the “WTF” podcast.
