Nigerian Navy commissions new fast patrol boat trio

The Nigerian Navy has held a commissioning ceremony for three new warships, the induction of three helicopters, and the inauguration of newly reconstructed Base Flats for personnel.

As disclosed, the event was held in Lagos on May 31, 2025, during the navy’s 69th anniversary celebration. The three newly commissioned warships—NNS Faro, NNS SHERE, and NNS Ikogosi—are high-endurance, fast patrol boats designed for rapid response and sustained operations in Nigeria’s maritime domain.
