Professional Boxer Dies of Cancer at Age 25
British boxer Georgia O'Connor passed away this week following a battle with cancer. She was 25.
O'Connor, who won a gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games and took home silver at the Youth World Championships that same year, had revealed back in January that she had been diagnosed with cancer. The Durham, England native previously disclosed last year that she was suffering from ulcerative colitis.
BOXXER, O'Connor's promotion company, confirmed her death with a social media post and statement Thursday.
