Forde races to 16-ball 50 vs Ireland
Barbadian Matthew Forde smashed the joint-fastest half-century in One-Day International history today.
Batting at number 8, the 23-year-old completed his half-century off just 16 balls for West Indies against Ireland at Clontarf in Dublin.
The former Combermere student dominated the Ireland attack right from the start, smacking two fours and eight sixes as he made 58 runs off 19 balls.
Batting first, West Indies had a rough start with both their openers – Brandon King (8) and Evin Lewis (20) — departing early.
