Beloved SportsCenter Anchor Out at ESPN After 25 Years

A longtime ESPN SportsCenter anchor's time at the network is coming to an end.

Stan Verrett, who has been at ESPN since 2000, will conclude his run at the Worldwide Leader at the end of the summer. According to Front Office Sports' Ryan,Glasspiegel, ESPN does not intend to renew Verrett's contract. 

There are still plans for the 59-year-old broadcaster to continue hosting SportsCenter in the coming weeks, and Glasspiegel says Verrett will also be included in the program's “50 States in 50 Days” tour, which begins June 27.
