1 dead, 2 injured in early morning hit and run; APD investigating

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it's investigating a fatal hit and run that occurred during the early morning of May 11, according to a Monday afternoon press release.

APD officers arrived to the scene in the 700 block of East Seventh Street at 4:59 a.m. According to the release, a vehicle hit three pedestrians before fleeing northbound on the Interstate 35 Frontage Road.

First responders took the three pedestrians to a nearby hospital.
