Designate protection officers to ensure safety of women from domestic abuse: SC to states, UTs

The Supreme Court has ordered states and union territories to appoint protection officers. These officers will help victims of domestic violence. The court wants officers at district and taluka levels. States must publicize the Domestic Violence Act. They should also ensure shelter homes are available. Free legal aid awareness is also necessary.
