ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan announces upcoming weather surveillance satellite EOS-09

ISRO is preparing to launch its 101st satellite, EOS-09, aboard the PSLV-C61 on May 18, 2025, from Sriharikota. EOS-09, a follow-on to RISAT-1, will enhance border and coastal monitoring, crucial for anti-terror operations. Equipped with advanced C-band synthetic aperture radar, it captures high-resolution images regardless of weather. ISRO also plans to launch the NASA-ISRO NISAR satellite to monitor Earth's dynamics.
