South Korea fines China's Temu for user data violations

South Korea’s data protection agency fined Chinese ecommerce giant Temu nearly $1 million for illegally transferring Korean users' personal data to China, Singapore, Japan, and other countries without proper disclosure or user consent. Temu also failed to appoint a local representative and complicated account deletion, violating Korean data laws.
