Woman ‘sexually assaulted’ on stairs of city centre bar as cops issue new picture in hunt for man

A WOMAN has been “sexually assaulted” on the stairs of a bar as cops desperately hunt for a man.

It’s claimed the attack happened at The Mushroom bar on Grainger Street in Northumbria at around 1am on March 23.

Cops said a man allegedly touched the woman without her consent after lifting up her skirt as she went up the bar’s stairs.

The woman was said to be left “shaken” by the incident.

Northumbria Police released a statement today urging anyone who may have information to get in touch.
