BJP, allies lead in counting of votes for Assam panchayat elections

The BJP and its allies are dominating the Assam panchayat elections, the first held after constituency delimitation. The BJP leads in 32 zilla parishad constituencies, while the AGP is ahead in two. Counting commenced on Sunday following two phases of polling across 27 districts. The BJP has shown strong performance in Golaghat, Majuli, and Aahotguri, securing victories in multiple constituencies.
