Topeka Walmart reopened after bomb threat, police investigating

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka police say a local store has been declared safe after it was evacuated due to a bomb threat Saturday afternoon.

The Topeka Police Department (TPD) announced in a press release on May 10 that a 911 call was made around 2:30 p.m. from an individual who claimed to have left an explosive device inside the Walmart at 1501 Southwest Wanamaker Road. Police evacuated the building and deployed a bomb investigation unit and K-9 unit to investigate the situation.
