Cabinet approves expansion of academic and infrastructure capacity of 5 IITs
The Union Cabinet has approved a significant expansion of five IITs in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Karnataka, investing ₹11,828.79 crore over four years. This initiative aims to increase student capacity by over 6,500, create 130 faculty positions, and establish research parks to strengthen industry ties. The expansion will enhance educational opportunities and contribute to national development.
