115,000 Kiwi teachers to pocket up to $550 each thanks to $53M budget boost

The New Zealand government will allocate NZ$53 million in Budget 2025 for teacher registrations. Education Minister Erica Stanford made the announcement. The funding will cover fees from mid-2025 to 2028. Teachers will save up to NZ$550. Around 40,000 teachers will benefit in the first year and around 115,000 over three years.
