(NewsNation) — The funeral of Pope Francis will be held Saturday, with proceedings and plans for his final resting place expected to be simpler than those of previous popes.

The service will be held at 4 a.m. EDT in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. The funeral will take place after Francis' body lies in state for three days at St. Peter's Basilica.
