Mumbai International Airport to launch hand-carriage jewellery export operations starting May 1

Mumbai International Airport will commence hand-carriage jewellery export operations from May 1, 2025, following a CBIC circular formalizing the procedure. A mock drill, involving key industry players, was recently conducted to simulate export scenarios. GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali believes this initiative will simplify logistics, especially for emerging exporters, and strengthen India's position as a global jewellery hub.
